Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of various web applications, a collection of digital applications operated by Edgefield Secondary School ("the School", "we", "us", or "our").

The applications are intended to support internal school processes and activities and are available only to users authorised to access the relevant services.

By accessing or using an application, you agree to comply with these Terms and any applicable school rules, policies, and instructions. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should discontinue use of the application and contact the School if you require assistance.

2. Eligibility and authorised access

Access is subject to the requirements established for each application.

Users must:

  • Use an account and sign-in method permitted by the School.
  • Provide accurate account information where requested.
  • Use only the applications and functions for which they have been authorised.
  • Follow applicable school policies, procedures, and instructions.

Successful authentication through Google Sign-In does not automatically guarantee permission to access every application or feature. The School may apply additional access restrictions.

3. Google Sign-In

Some applications use Google Sign-In to authenticate users.

You are responsible for using an account that you are authorised to use and for maintaining the security of that account.

Access may be denied if authentication fails, the account is not authorised, or the relevant service is unavailable. Google account services are also subject to Google's applicable terms and policies.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any application, account, system, or information.
  • Circumvent access controls or interfere with the security or operation of an application.
  • Use an application for unlawful purposes or in a manner that breaches applicable school policies.
  • Access, copy, modify, disclose, or distribute information without proper authorisation.
  • Introduce malicious code or undertake activities that disrupt the availability or integrity of the applications.
  • Misuse another person's account or impersonate another user.

Users must promptly report suspected security issues, unauthorised access, or misuse through the School's designated support channel.

5. Information and user responsibilities

Users must handle information accessed through the applications responsibly and in accordance with applicable school policies and instructions.

Where an application allows users to submit, upload, or modify information, users must ensure that their actions are authorised and that the information is appropriate for the intended school-related purpose.

Users must not disclose confidential or personal information to unauthorised persons.

6. Availability and changes

The School may update, maintain, suspend, restrict, or discontinue an application or feature when necessary for operational, administrative, security, or other legitimate school-related reasons.

Access may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, connectivity issues, or the unavailability of third-party services.

Where practicable, the School will communicate significant changes or planned interruptions through appropriate school communication channels.

7. Intellectual property

The applications and their associated materials may contain content, software, branding, and other materials owned by or licensed to the School or other parties.

Except where permitted by law, applicable school policies, or written authorisation, users must not reproduce, modify, redistribute, or commercially exploit these materials without the necessary permission.

8. Privacy

Use of the applications is also subject to the Privacy Policy for Various EFSS Applications:

https://www.edgefield.edu.sg/privacy-policy/

That policy describes the intended handling of information associated with the applications, including Google Sign-In data.

9. Suspension and termination of access

The School may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where necessary, including when a user is no longer authorised, an account presents a security concern, or these Terms or applicable school policies may have been breached.

Where appropriate, the School may review the circumstances and take action in accordance with relevant school procedures.

10. Third-party services

Some functionality may depend on third-party services, including Google Sign-In.

The School does not control the availability or operation of external services. Users may need to comply with the applicable terms and policies of those providers when using their services.

11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The applications are provided to support internal school processes and activities. To the extent permitted by applicable law and relevant government or school policies, the School does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of every application or feature.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12. Changes to these Terms

The School may revise these Terms to reflect changes to the applications, school requirements, or applicable policies.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use following an update is subject to applicable requirements and any notice or acknowledgement process established by the School.

13. Contact

For questions about these Terms, access permissions, or use of the applications, contact Edgefield Secondary School through its official communication channels.
